Why is my job being paused automatically?

Reactivate your paused job from the job card menu after addressing accumulated unqualified applications to resume receiving candidate submissions

Automatically pausing jobs ensures that you only receive as many applications as you can actually handle, based on how quickly you respond. This keeps your application process manageable, ensures talent receives timely feedback, and helps you maintain a consistently positive talent experience.

When is a job paused automatically?

A job is paused automatically when a certain number of unqualified applications is reached. An application is considered unqualified when both of the following conditions are met:

  • There has been no qualifying interaction (see below).
  • The application is at least three business days old.

You can identify an automatically paused job on the Stellen page by the notice displayed directly on its job card. Once you start responding to applications again, you can reactivate the job by selecting Stelle fortsetzen from the card’s three-dot menu (⋮). Before a job is deactivated, you’ll also receive a warning email so you can step in early.

đź’ˇ Note:
A fast average response time no longer prevents automatic pausing. What matters is actively processing applications. Each qualifying interaction reduces the number of unqualified applications and therefore lowers the risk of reaching the threshold.

When is an application considered “processed”?

An application is considered qualified as soon as at least one of the following interactions has taken place:

  • You’ve sent the talent a chat message.
  • You’ve moved the application to another stage (e.g., Vorauswahl, Erstgespräch, Zweitgespräch, Angebot, Eingestellt).
  • You’ve rejected the application.

Until one of these interactions takes place, the application remains unqualified and counts toward the threshold after three business days.
