Screen New Applications and Make Initial Decisions

Review new applications in the Screening tab, sort by job or location, and accept or reject candidates to start conversations faster.

In screening, you review new applications and decide which talents to accept and which to reject. This helps you stay organized and get suitable candidates into conversations faster. 🚀

Go to Screening

In Bewerbungen, open the Screening tab.
Here you'll find all new applications with the status Bewerbung, meaning applications that haven't been screened yet.

Get an overview of new applications

Bildschirmfoto 2026-10-02 um 13.32.19.png

  • Applications with a red dot haven't been reviewed yet.
  • At the top, you can switch between jobs or filter the list.
  • When you select a single job, the list is split into two groups: Rahmenbedingungen passen and Nicht alle Rahmenbedingungen passen. The criteria are language, location and, if your job has any, must-have skills.
  • For must-have skills, a talent only needs to fully meet one skill to stay in the first group. If they don't meet any of them, they'll appear in the second group. Skills you added to the job after the application was submitted don't count for that talent.
  • If all applications meet the criteria, you'll see only one group. The second group won't be shown.
  • When you select multiple jobs, the list stays in its usual simple table format.
  • Use Sortieren above the table to choose the order, for example, “Neueste zuerst”.
  • With Nächster Standort zuerst, talents who live closest to the job location appear first. You can also sort this way by clicking the Standort column. Talents without a location always appear at the end.

💡 Tip: Check new applications regularly. The sooner you respond, the faster you can start a conversation with suitable talents.

Key information at a glance

Bildschirmfoto 2026-10-02 um 13.29.07.png

The table has four columns:

  • Talent: Name, current position and company
  • Standort: Home location, country and distance to the nearest location for the job. A moving truck icon indicates that the talent is willing to relocate for the job.
  • Bedingungen: Icons for salary, language and location. If your job has must-have skills, a fourth icon is added, for example, “2/3 Must-have-Skills”. Green means the requirement is met, yellow means partially met or borderline, red means not met, and gray means not relevant. Hover over an icon to see the details. For must-have skills, for example, you can see which skills are missing and how many years of experience the talent entered.
  • Datum: How long the application has been waiting. After seven days, the date turns orange.

This makes it easy to see who is a particularly good fit.

Above the table, the status bar shows your Screening-Fortschritt, along with the number of applications that meet the criteria, the number of other applications, and the number that have been waiting for more than seven days.

The progress bar counts the decisions you've made in the current browser tab. If you open the job in a new tab, the count starts from zero again, but your decisions are still saved. Only Annehmen and Ablehnen count. Moving on to the next talent doesn't.

Start screening

Click „Screening fortsetzen“ in the top right to start with the first application.
Or select an individual application to start with that one.

Screening is always job-specific and follows the order of the table, from top to bottom.

Review multiple applications at once

Use the checkboxes on the left to accept or reject multiple talents at once, up to 20 per action. The checkbox in a group row selects all loaded talents in that group.

Once you've selected something, a toolbar appears above the table with Auswahl aufheben, Ablehnen and Annehmen.

  • Annehmen: Just like accepting an individual application, you'll confirm the privacy notice and write an introductory message if needed.
  • Ablehnen: Confirm your decision in a notification window. Select Nachricht hinzufügen to send a personal rejection message to all selected talents. Their names are added automatically.

The talents will be notified of the rejection and will disappear from your screening list. This can't be undone.

Review talent profiles in detail

Bildschirmfoto 2026-10-02 um 13.32.42.png

The detail view opens in full screen. The left navigation is hidden so you can focus entirely on the talent.

At the top, you'll find:

  • An X to close the view. You'll return to exactly where you were in the list.
  • The breadcrumb Stellentitel › Screening › Name des Talents. Stellentitel and Screening are links that you can open in a new tab.
  • A counter such as „3 von 14“, with an arrow to the next talent on the right. A progress bar directly underneath shows how far you've made it through the list.

Below that, you'll see:

  • Under the name, the talent's home location and the Bedingungen as colored tags. These are the same details shown in the table. You'll only see the language tag if the job requires a language. The salary tag shows the salary expectation directly, for example, “€60,000”. Hover over it to see how it compares with the salary range for your job. You'll also see the earliest start date and years of work experience.
  • The Screening-Fragen: all the answers the talent gave when applying, such as years of experience with your must-have skills, industries, customer types and your own question. Each answer has its own icon: ✓ met, ◐ partially met, ✕ not met, ? unknown, usually because you added the question after the application was submitted.
  • The complete talent profile: Über mich, Berufserfahrung, Ausbildung, Skills und Sprachen, Branchen- und Kundenerfahrung
  • The Lebenslauf (if available) in a separate tab

💡 Click the talent's photo to enlarge it. You can also accept the application directly from there.

The familiar panel on the right stays open. It contains the buttons to accept and reject, as well as the Chat and Notizen tabs.

⚙️ You can move to the next talent at any time using the arrow, without making a decision right away.

Review talents in the sidebar

When you open a talent from your application overview, the Profil tab in the sidebar gives you the key facts at a glance:

  • At the top, you'll see the name, home location and the job the talent applied for.
  • Below that, you'll find the Bedingungen as colored tags: salary, location, language and earliest start date. If a value came from the application, the tooltip tells you when the talent provided it, for example, “Bei der Bewerbung beantwortet am 22. Oktober 2026”.
  • Kontaktdaten has its own section. Each item is listed with an icon and label. Click the arrow to collapse the section. If the contact details are still locked, you'll see a lock icon.
  • Below that, you'll find the Screening-Fragen with all the answers from the application.

Add notes during screening

Bildschirmfoto 2026-10-02 um 13.33.05.png

During screening, you can save personal Notizen directly to a talent's profile. This lets you record feedback and keep your hiring team on the same page.

Open the Notizen tab in the panel on the right. There, you can:

  • Write a note
  • Select a mood (positive, neutral or negative)
  • Mention team members with @Name
  • Turn notifications for mentions on or off

💡 You can save a note without selecting a mood, or select a mood without writing a note. You just need to fill in one of the two fields.

All notes are shown in chronological order, with the name, time and mood.
You'll also find earlier activities related to the application at the bottom.

Make a decision

Bildschirmfoto 2026-10-02 um 13.33.22.png

There are two buttons in the panel on the right:

  • Annehmen: The talent is a good fit and moves to the next step.
  • Ablehnen: The talent isn't a good fit and is moved to the Abgelehnt status.

If you haven't decided yet, use the arrow in the top right to move to the next talent. The talent will remain in Screening.

After screening

  • Accepted talents → In Bearbeitung tab
  • Rejected talents → also appear there, with the Abgelehnt status
  • Skipped talents → remain visible in Screening

Once you've screened the last talent for a job, you can:

  • Continue with the next job, or
  • Return to the screening list to keep an overview.
