How do I accept new applications and open the chat?

What you'll achieve

You can now accept or reject new applications with just one click. The chat only starts when you show genuine interest.

What's new?

The detail view already shows you the chat tab. Above the message input field, you'll find the "Accept application" button:

• "Accept application" - application moves to Accepted, your automated first chat message is sent, chat is unlocked
• "Reject" - application is rejected immediately
• "Next talent →" - you can decide later

How the new decision process works

1. Review new applications

• Open the Screening tab in the Applications section.

• Select a new application to review it in detail.

• The chat tab is already visible. The message input field is disabled and shows "Locked until acceptance". Your automated first chat message will only be sent after you accept the application.

2. Make your decision

In the chat tab, you'll find the full-width "Accept application" button above the message input field. This is the main action. Optionally, you can also choose "Accept and chat" to focus the message field right after accepting.

• "Accept application" - accepts the application and moves it to Accepted
• "Accept and chat" - accepts the application and focuses the message field
• "Reject" - rejects the application

3. What happens next?

✅ Application accepted (via "Accept application")

• Application appears in the "In Progress" section under the Accepted column
• Chat is now available
• The talent has already received your first automated chat message

• You'll see the "Application accepted" badge above the conversation
• Your automated first message is already visible
• The accept button is replaced with "Next talent"; "Reject" remains available

❌ Application rejected

• The application is closed and moved to the Rejected column
• The talent is informed that it didn't work out this time
• The composer remains visible but is disabled and shows "Chat function is not available."

➡️ Application skipped

• The application stays visible in the Screening tab

• You can make a decision the next time you review

Why this change matters

• You only chat with talents who are truly a good fit, since chat only opens after your first positive review.

• You save time on unsuitable profiles because you can reject them without having to write a message.

• Talents find out sooner where they stand.

Does the chat open without my decision?

• No. The chat only opens when you actively click Accept.

What does the talent see while you're reviewing?

• The talent sees that the application is being reviewed. The chat remains locked.
