How do I calculate the placement fee?
For every successful placement through Instaffo, you'll pay a placement fee depending on your contract. This is based on the agreed gross annual salary in the first year of employment.
You'll find the exact percentage in your individual contract. 📄
The fee applies to all placements where the interview process was started through Instaffo.

What counts toward the gross annual salary?
The calculation basis is the total gross annual salary - that is, everything agreed upon in the first year:
- Fixed salary (annual gross)
- Variable compensation (e.g., bonuses, commissions)
- Employer contributions to occupational pension schemes (bAV)
- Monetary benefits (e.g., company cars)
- Other monetary additional benefits in the contract
How are additional benefits factored in?
All non-fixed benefits also count toward the calculation - here are a few examples:
- 🚗 Company car - The monetary benefit is calculated using the 1% rule, lease rate, or an alternative method × 12 months
- 🏦 Occupational pension contribution - The employer contribution to the pension scheme is fully included
- 💸 Bonuses & commissions - These are considered if they're part of the agreed salary package
Calculation example
Talent's salary package:
- Fixed salary: 60,000 €
- Commission: 7,500 € annually
- Company car (1% rule, 40,000 € gross list price): 400 €/month × 12 = 4,800 €
➡️ Total gross annual salary:
60,000 € + 7,500 € + 4,800 € = 72,300 €
➡️ Placement fee (e.g., 15%):
72,300 € × 0.15 = 10,845 € plus VAT
